抄録: This research is a comparative study of the nonverbal communication behaviors in using stickers in LINE among young people in Thailand and Japan. It was also aimed to find whether the use of LINE stickers is identified, characterized and explained according to the functions of nonverbal communication in a face-to-face communication in the comparison between the use by the Japanese and the Thai students. This research study discussed the findings obtained from the data collected, according to the seven funtions of nonverbal communication. Each function was discussed in general and in the comparison between the Japanese and Thai student. accoding to the findings, LINE stickers were regarded as nonverbal communication which serves various functions. These function were glouped into the function that share the same usage by the Japanese and the Thai students (Self-Representation. Displaying emotion, and Replacing verbal messages), and the function that were used differently (Conveying relational messages, Regelating interaction, Repeating and Emphasizing verbal massages, and Relaying awkward messages).
